After returning home from two combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, our family found solace and purpose in the kitchen and on the farm. Cooking became a way to heal, reconnect, and share a commitment to healthy living with those we love. Through this journey, we discovered the incredible potential of microgreens—transforming what was once just a garnish into the centerpiece of vibrant, nutrient-packed dishes. Recognizing the need for fresh, locally grown, and wholesome produce, our family embraced organic farming as a way to blend creativity and healthy living. This journey is not just about food; it’s about fulfilling a son’s promise to provide his family and community with the very best that nature can offer.

Located on the rural outskirts of Los Angeles County, Mel’s Farmhouse is a proud disabled veteran-owned, family-operated farm-to-table business. We are now bringing the farm to the city, offering our freshly grown vegetables and signature dishes through our new takeout restaurant in Los Angeles. This exciting venture allows us to share the same commitment to quality, sustainability, and creativity with a broader audience, showcasing the abundance of our farm in every bite.
